Max and I set out to tackle a challenging and scenic 70 km run from Porteau Cove all the way to Deep Cove. The route promised incredible views, technical terrain, and a solid adventure along the way.
The weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny and clear, but man, it was blistering hot for running! The heat quickly became a serious factor as we pushed on.
We made good progress and reached Cypress, taking in the stunning vistas along the way. However, the combination of technical trail and intense heat forced us to call it quits there instead of pushing on to Deep Cove.
Though we bailed early, the run was a memorable one with plenty of great trail running and scenery. Sometimes it’s smart to listen to your body, and today, the heat won!
