After an unexpected detour caused by an accident on the Sea to Sky highway, Alex and I decided to switch plans and head up to Zoa Peak instead of skiing with Ben and Cody in the Brew area. Zoa was busier than we expected, running into at least 20 VOCers plus a few other groups, but the highlight was definitely the excellent snow on the north aspect. It made the crowd more than worth it.
On Sunday, we returned to ski Thar Peak with Ben. The area was even busier than the day before, but the skiing on the south bowl was really enjoyable. The descent included some classic alder skiing back down to the power line, always an adventure!
Later that evening, Adrien, fresh back from France, joined us for dinner at my place. It was great to catch up with him, he seemed noticeably more optimistic and happier than the last time I saw him. A perfect way to wrap up the weekend!
