Day 1 – The Scottish Theme
We kicked off our trip with a full-on peak bagging spree. Starting from the car with our overnight packs (because, why travel light?), we first summited Ben More. Then we cruised along the east ridge to Ben Lomond, descended the north bowl to Red Mountain, and continued westward ticking off every bump in sight, Ben Lui, Ben Vorlich, and Ben Avon all fell victim to our summit ambitions. Night one was spent at a cozy cabin, which was packed tighter than a tourist bus in Edinburgh during festival season.
Day 2 – The Spires and Sheer Fun
Fueled by some questionable cabin coffee, we tackled the West and East Nai Spires, then took on Skypilot via the East Ridge (also known as Gunsight Gap,because apparently, every rugged Scottish trail needs a cool name). Finally, we conquered Mount Sheer before hiking out in the rain, because what’s a Scottish adventure without a good drenching?
All in all, a tiring but incredibly satisfying weekend. Alexis proved to be an absolute legend, determined to stand atop every bump and crag in the area. Mission accomplished: 10 peaks bagged in 2 days. Not bad for a weekend warrior!
