Mount Currie to Wedge Traverse

Nicholas, Stephen, Phil, Tim, and I set out for an ambitious ski traverse in a day. The snow? Let’s just say it was less “powder paradise” and more “sticky soup surprise.” Every turn felt like skiing through molasses, great for upper body strength, terrible for morale.

When we hit the notorious Wedgemount trail descent, Stephen pulled the ultimate power move: he skipped the nightmare entirely... by paragliding off the Weart-Wedge col straight back to the highway. Talk about taking the express route home. Meanwhile, the rest of us faced the sticky slog with grim determination (and maybe a few choice words).

Despite the soupy snow and Stephen’s airborne exit, it was a solid group effort and a day full of memorable moments. Next time, we’re lobbying for wings on everyone.
