Spent overnight on Caspar drainage to ski Mt. Duke and Mt. Caspar. We accessed Mt. Duke via NW ridge. Just enough snow coverage on the boulder field below 1600m. The alders on the logging wasn't that bad compared on the last fall visit. Challenging route finding to the summit and hard snow pack. We then skied off the North face of Duke back to the camp.
However, the access to Mt. Caspar was alder fest. Thick bush and steep skinning to the west ridge. Beautiful run on Caspar-Konsengarten bowl. It was much more enjoyable than Mt. Duke. I really need to learn how to ski steep line.
