Mt. Habrich (Escape Velocity 7P, 5.9)

On Saturday, Alexis and I checked out the newly bolted route up Mt. Habrich. It’s a fun alpine climb that’s perfect for beginners like me. The route intersects the classic scramble, so if you get stuck or want to bail on the harder pitches, you can always take the easier scramble option.

The morning was wet and cold, definitely kept us on our toes. And, shame on me, but I couldn’t even lead the first pitch! Thankfully, Alexis was there to keep things moving smoothly.

All in all, a great day getting acquainted with some alpine climbing and a solid introduction to the mountain.

  1. Why were you not able to lead the first pitch? I am wanting to go do this route on Tuesday.
